Five-year veteran receiver Rondale Moore passed away early Saturday. He was just 25 years old
Former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Rondale Moore has died, multiple sources confirmed. The New Albany, IN, chief of police reported that Moore was found deceased after an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. An investigation is underway, expected to culminate with a scheduled autopsy. The exam date has not been released.
Moore entered the league in 2021, taken in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft by Arizona after three seasons at Purdue. As a freshman, Moore set the Big 10 on fire, leading the conference with 114 catches for 1,258 yards, while adding another 200-plus yards rushing. He totaled 14 touchdowns on the season. Unfortunately, injuries got the best of him during two sophomore years (one medical redshirt), when he amassed a total of seven games. His undeniable talent was still reason enough to make him the 49th-overall selection.
Injuries reared their ugly head again recently. In the offseason prior to 2024, Moore was traded to Atlanta but suffered a season-ending knee injury in training camp. Last offseason, the Indiana native signed with the Minnesota Vikings. Another season-ending knee injury followed, this time in the Minnesota preseason opener. Moore was a free agent at the time of his passing, having not played a regular-season snap since 2023.
Responses to the loss were immediate. Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, his former teammate, lamented, “Bro ain’t no way brotha you just messaged me [a] few hours ago”. Moore’s former head coach at Purdue, Jeff Brohm (now at Louisville), also addressed the loss, lauding Moore’s qualities as a teammate, smile, eagerness to please everyone, and competitive fire. Brohm closed by saying, “We offer all of our thoughts and prayers to Rondale and his family, and we love him very much.”
PlayerProfiler offers our deepest condolences to family, friends, teammates, and anyone personally touched by the loss of a young man gone too soon.

The 5th year wide receiver will look to reclaim his career in Minnesota.
Rondale Moore has signed with the Minnesota Vikings. After a knee injury took away his 2024 season, Moore will look to recover both from an injury and career standpoint.
Moore was looking to rewrite the script to his career last year after he was traded from the Arizona Cardinals to the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for quarterback Desmond Ridder. Some bullish elements to his game include the ability to show explosion close to the line of scrimmage and being versatile in usage via carries and targets. The problem for Rondale Moore is that his skillset has been more theory than practice.
Deebo Samuel and Jayden Reed get lauded for their swiss army knife utilization and weaponry afforded to their respective teams. Another problem is that for every Deebo Samuel, there is a Rondale Moore who doesn’t hit for fantasy football. Rookie wide receiver Luther Burden III is someone to monitor as to whether or not he will follow the Samuel or Moore path. In the meantime, expect Rondale Moore to fit a gadget role for depth on what is becoming a deeper offense soon to be led by quarterback J.J. McCarthy.

Rondale Moore suffered a knee injury that will end his season.
Falcons wide receiver Rondale Moore is out for the season after suffering a knee-injury. The 4th year wide receiver has struggled to lift off in his short career.
This is a disappointing outcome for a player who was looking to benefit from a change in scenery. Just a week ago, Rondale Moore was reportedly pushing for the slot role and drawing praise from head coach Raheem Morris. Given the minor investment in Rondale Moore via a trade with Arizona Cardinals, don’t expect a big time acquisition to replace Rondale Moore.
Keep an eye on training camp reports for Casey Washington and Ray-Ray McCloud III and expect a lower tiered wide receiver to join the fold. The weapons to heavily invest in the Falcons offense remain Bijan Robinson, Drake London, and Kyle Pitts with secondary levels of exposure to running back Tyler Allgeier and second receiver Darnell Mooney.
Rondale Moore’s effort is being noticed by head coach Raheem Morris, pushing Moore into consideration for the slot role in the Falcons offense.
Atlanta Falcons reporter Daniel Flick on X said that wide receiver Rondale Moore has drawn praise from head coach Raheem Morris. Morris is quoted as saying that Moore is “starting to heat up in camp.”
Rondale Moore’s Dynasty and redraft stock has never been lower as he was traded this offseason from the Cardinals in exchange for backup quarterback Desmond Ridder. The news that Moore is heating up in camp is encouraging to hear. The UnderDog best ball market shows confidence in Darnell Mooney as the Falcons second wide receiver as Mooney is being drafted in the 13th round of UnderDog drafts.
Exciting usage for Rondale Moore would include full time work in the slot as well as some utilization in the backfield. Due to his smaller frame, it is beneficial for Moore to be used closer to the line of scrimmage where the football can be facilitated quickly in order to allow Moore to show off his speed. Rondale Moore is a free click in round 18 on UnderDog. Add Rondale Moore to the wide net of players to draft at the end of your best ball drafts.
The Cardinals secure their backup quarterback while the Falcons aim for upside acquiring wide receiver Rondale Moore.
The Atlanta Falcons have been super active in free agency acquiring quarterback Kirk Cousins and signing wide receiver Darnell Mooney. With Desmond Ridder not being a scheme and archetype fit for their new offense, the Falcons are sending Desmond Ridder to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for wide receiver Rondale Moore.
This is a win-win real life NFL trade and a trade that could be made in your Superflex Dynasty leagues. In Desmond Ridder, the Cardinals get a quality backup who can play to some of the skillset with which Kyler Murray operates the offense, albeit to a lesser degree. For the Falcons, Rondale Moore can be utilized in the short area passing game, end-arounds, and carries from the backfield.
This trade is neither a threat to Kyler Murray or Bijan Robinson, rather it gives both the Cardinals and Falcons extra versatility in their roster construction. With the kindling of this NFL trade, you can now use this short window to include Desmond Ridder and Rondale Moore into some cross-positional Dynasty trades with larger pieces serving as the meat shield to hide your intentions.
