The 2025 NFL offensive player of the year took a back seat in the team’s Super Bowl win against the New England Patriots.
The Seattle Seahawks came out of Super Bowl LX victorious, but it wasn’t due to the production of Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who finished the game with four receptions on 10 targets, totalling just 27 yards. The Offensive Player of the Year was shadowed by Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez and allowed more volume to flow through Walker and Kupp.
The lack of production in the big game should not make fantasy managers shy away from drafting Jaxon Smith-Njigba at his current ADP. The Seahawks roster will look very similar heading into the 2026 season, and there’s no reason to think Darnold and JSN would lose their historic chemistry. With a top 5 ADP on both FastDraft and Underdog, drafters should be selecting Smith-Njigba with confidence that he can duplicate his 2025 season and anchor your team to Best Ball success.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba has won the Associated Press NFL Offensive Player of the Year award for the 2025 season.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba smashed the franchise receiving record for the Seahawks this season, recording 119 receptions for 1793 yards and 10 touchdowns, finishing as the wide receiver two overall in PPR formats. He now becomes the second Seahawk to win the award.
Njigba found instant chemistry with Sam Darnold, was the focal point of the offense, and will once again be the primary driver in the Super Bowl on February 8th. He recorded the most games with over 100 yards in Seahawks history, as well as the most receptions. We saw the breakout happening in 2024, and he blew the doors right off in 2025, showing he has what it takes to be an elite receiver in the NFL for a long time.

The Seattle Seahawks are headed to the Super Bowl following their 31-27 victory over the Los Angeles Rams.
The Seattle Seahawks defeat the Los Angeles Rams and book their trip to Super Bowl LX. It was an incredibly competitive game defined by big plays and costly mistakes. A Jaxon Smith-Njigba touchdown with only 20 seconds left in the 2nd quarter gave the Seahawks the lead going into halftime. The first drive of the 3rd quarter ended with a Rams muffed punt that quickly turned into a Jake Bobo receiving touchdown and the Seahawks never looked back.
The Rams nearly mounted a comeback due to a back-breaking taunting penalty on Tariq Woolen, turning what would have been a 4th-and-12 punt, into a 34-yard Puka Nacua touchdown. Those would be the final points scored in the game. There were many games this season where the Seattle defense dominated to the point where the offense wasn’t needed, but with the NFC title on the line, it was Sam Darnold who stepped up, throwing for 346 yards and 3 touchdowns, and most importantly, 0 interceptions.
The Seahawks are set to face the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara.

After a lethargic first half, the Seattle Seahawks’ offense erupts to score 31 in the second half and pummel the Atlanta Falcons
Are you not entertained!? Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Sam Darnold connect on seven receptions, for 92 yards and two touchdowns, as the Seahawks take flight in the second half and lay a beatdown on the Atlanta Falcons.
Njigba bounced back in a big way as he gave managers a dud in Week 13. He scored his first touchdown of the day in the third quarter, catching a pass through the middle and going into the endzone uncontested. Later in the fourth quarter, he saw a quick four-yard pass for the score. He is currently the wide receiver three on the week heading into the Sunday Nighter.

The Seattle Seahawks defeat the Tennessee Titans in Week 12 thanks to Njigba’s record-setting performance.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba has set the Seahawks single-season receiving record in just eleven games, passing DK Metcalf’s previous record of 1,303 yards set in 2020. He is also the NFL’s leader in receiving yards. JSN was humble in acknowledging the record, stating it feels more like a team award.
Finishing the day with eight catches for a season high 167 yards and two touchdowns pushed him into exclusive history. Now, having 75 receiving yards in his 11th straight game, he only trails Marvin Harrison(14) and Cooper Kupp(13) for most such games in NFL history. This day was highlighted by an incredible 63-yard touchdown in which he beat single coverage and backpedalled into the end zone. JSN continues to vault himself into the conversation of being the best wide receiver in the NFL and has built great chemistry with Sam Darnold.
