Breakout Age
David Njoku to Test Free Agency

After 9 seasons with the Cleveland Browns, TE David Njoku will become a free agent.

David Njoku will become a free agent after spending the first 9 years of his career in Cleveland. Njoku is coming off of a down year, totaling just 293 receiving yards, his lowest since 2020. The emergence of Harold Fannin Jr. allows Cleveland to let Njoku walk and allocate their money elsewhere, while Njoku will try to find a new home where he can be a key offensive weapon once again.

Fantasy players should be thrilled on all fronts. The Browns are now Harold Fannin’s team, and he will have a very real opportunity to surpass his 107-target rookie season without Njoku.

For Njoku, a fresh start will be a welcome sight. The Cleveland Browns only managed 16.4 points per game, placing them at 31st in the NFL, ahead of just the Raiders. Njoku is 29 years old, which should mean a few more years of high-level production. There are plenty of landing spots were Njoku can return to being the impact player he was when he made the Pro Bowl just 2 years ago, when he had Joe Flacco at QB.

Fannin Not Available in Week 18

Due to a groin injury, Cleveland Browns rookie tight end Harold Fannin Jr. will not play in week 18 against the Bengals.

After missing practice all week, it comes as no surprise that Harold Fannin Jr. will miss the regular-season finale against the Bengals. Fannin reinjured his groin, making an outstanding touchdown grab against the Steelers. It was his sixth touchdown of an impressive rookie campaign that saw him take fellow tight end David Njoku’s lunch money and overtake him as the focal point of the offense. The rookie currently sits as the tight end five in PPR formats and tight end six on KTC, and his ADP is due to rise in the offseason.

The third round selection burst onto the NFL scene and never looked back. Known for his crisp routes, strong hands, and YAC ability, many questioned whether his college production could translate well, given his somewhat undersized stature for typical tight end standards. Fannin finished the season with 72 receptions, 731 yards and six touchdowns. There are not many bright spots in Cleveland, but the tight end looks like a crucial building block for the future.

Fannin Says He Will Play Against Steelers
2 months ago

The Browns’ rookie tight end injured his groin at today’s practice but still intends to play in the divisional game.

Harold Fannin Jr. suffered a groin injury in practice today and said he intends to play on Sunday against the division rival Pittsburgh Steelers. However, head coach Kevin Stefanski said the team would like to see how it progresses before Sunday.

Fannin has been one of the lone bright spots for the Browns this season, ranking as the Tight End six in PPR formats and recording 70 receptions for 701 yards and five touchdowns while also rushing for thirteen yards and a touchdown, showing his versatility. Injuries this season have been devastating to fantasy managers, making it feel more like a battle of attrition than a chance to make the finals with a powerful team. This would have been a smash matchup for Fannin as the Steelers defense bleeds points to the tight end position. Managers must stay on top of the news in case Fannin can not play and need to pivot to another player.

Cook and Fannin Both Score Pair of Touchdowns
2 months ago

James Cook and Harold Fannin Jr both led their respective teams on offense as the Bills defeated the Browns 23-20 in Week 16.

On a day where Josh Allen laid a fantasy dud, James Cook made sure he showed up for the Bills and fantasy managers. Rushing 16 times for 117 yards and two touchdowns, this was the ninth game of the season in which he recorded more than 100 rushing yards. His day was highlighted by a 44-yard run where he snatched some ankles in the open field on his way to the score. The Bills scored 20 points in the first half and stalled in the second but where able to hold on for the narrow victory.

Fannin led the Browns in receptions and targets for the third straight week and set a team record for the most receptions by a rookie in a season. Sanders found Fannin to open the scoring on a 13-yard play, and later in the game, Fannin showed off his versatility by rushing a carry into the endzone. He has put together a spectacular rookie season and has surged up the tight end rankings. He will be a must-start again in Week 17 as the Browns take on their divisional rivals the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Harold Fannin Jr. Tight End 1 Overall in Week 14
2 months ago

Cleveland Browns rookie tight end Harold Fannin Jr. finishes as tight end 1 overall in Week 14.

The Cleveland Browns fell to the Tennessee Titans in their Week 14 matchup, highlighted by a rookie quarterback showdown between Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders.  Ward ultimately came out on top, but Sanders still delivered a historic performance.  The Browns rookie became the first Day 3 quarterback in NFL history to throw for over 300 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns, and added a rushing touchdown in the same game.

Sanders showed a clear connection with fellow rookie Harold Fannin Jr., who erupted for 8 receptions on 11 targets for 114 yards and a touchdown.  The breakout performance makes Fannin the TE 1 of the week, and he’s quickly positioning himself as a must-start option for fantasy mangers moving forward heading into fantasy playoffs.

Pick 67. Harold Fannin Jr. to Cleveland

In a surprising move Bowling Green’s Harold Fannin Jr. lands in Cleveland to add a little confusion to the Browns TE room.

Cleveland have spent the 2nd day of the draft for the most part helping their offence with Judkins signifying a massive improvement to their RB room and now Fannin to bolster the receivers.

With the established veteran David Njoku dominating targets alongside Jerry Jeudy as their top WR. There is a need for a 3rd/4th receiving option there depending on the health of Cedric Tillman.
