Chicago Bears wide receiver Luther Burden III will play week 18 after sustaining an injury in week 17.
The Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Luther Burden III sustained a quad injury late in the week 17 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Despite the injury Burden was a playmaker with 8 receptions 138 receiving yards and a touchdown. Burden may have started slow, but he has finished strong, establishing a great connection with quarterback Caleb Williams. Burden has 31 receptions and 446 receiving yards and a touchdown in the last 7 weeks.
Luther Burden III is a must target in dynasty, at age 22 and matched up with Caleb Williams who has vastly improved in his 2nd season as a starter. Burden has averaged 2.92 yards per route run which is good for 3rd overall behind only Puka Nacua and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. He could have been a contender for rookie of the year had he started playing sooner. The future is raging bright for this Bears connection!

After a monster Week 17 performance, Bears rookie wide receiver Luther Burden will be one of the most talked-about fantasy assets heading into next season.
Finishing as the wide receiver one in Week 17 has already sparked debate about the Bears’ rookie wide receiver, Luther Burden. He is currently the top trending player on Player Profiler. As fantasy managers have become more reactive to current production, we can all but assume Burden’s ADP will skyrocket in all formats heading into 2026. He is currently WR26 on KTC. While Burden only saw a 38.2% snap share and a 12.7% target share, managers have chosen the player comparison of the Lions’ star wide receiver, Amon Ra St. Brown. Is that because of Burden’s explosiveness, YAC ability and separation score or simply because we hope he can be in the full-time slot role of a Ben Johnson offense?
The rookie finished the season with 44 receptions, 617 yards, and two touchdowns, and some clutch catches down the stretch for the Bears. The wide receiver room was banged up in Weeks 15-17, which caused an expanded role for Burden. Still, with D.J Moore seemingly an afterthought most of the season and a change of scenery the likely outcome, it’s difficult to temper expectations that Burden won’t be a larger piece moving forward. In the 2025 draft, the first with Ben Johnson as Head Coach, the Bears selected Colston Loveland and Burden. It was a clear statement that Ben Johnson envisioned these players being leaders in his offense moving forward. Sophomore receiver Rome Odunze, while productive, had an injury-riddled season, and does he have what it takes to hold off the rookies to be the alpha? Let’s bring on the Luther vs Rome debate, just as we saw with Amon Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams last offseason, buckle up!

Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Luther Burden had one of his best games of the season in their loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
The Chicago Bears lost a shootout, 42-38, to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football but rookie wide receiver Luther Burden showed why he was a 2nd round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Burden led the team with eight receptions, 138 yards and a score.
This is the third straight game with at least 60 receiving yards for Burden as he’s made himself an integral part of the Bears passing attack. Burden has 44 receptions, 617 yards and two touchdowns this year.
Ben Johnson has the Chicago offense firing on all cylinders right now and Burden has been proving himself, expect Burden to be a focal point of the Bears offense in 2026.

Brock Purdy comes through for fantasy managers in Championship week!
The 49ers won in thrilling last second fashion 42-38 over the Chicago Bears. Brock Purdy and Christian McCaffrey delivered epic performances.
Purdy sits as the QB1 on the week with 5 combined touchdowns and 303 passing yards. McCaffrey delivered 28.1 fantasy points. He had a 23-240-1 rushing line and went 4-41 receiving. The shootout was good on the Bears side as Luther Burden and Colston Loveland finished as the WR1 and TE2 respectively (pending MNF). With both teams playoff bound, a rematch will be a ratings hit!

The Chicago Bears and San Francisco 49ers battle back-and-forth to the very last second in Week 17, 49ers pull off the win 42-38.
Chicago Bears kept pace offensively behind Caleb Williams, who topped 330 passing yards with multiple touchdowns, keeping fantasy managers afloat in Championship Week. Luther Burden III was Williams’ top weapon in the passing game. Burden finished the game with 8 receptions, 138 yards, and one touchdown. Heading into Monday Night Football he is currently wide receiver 1 on the week. On the last play of the game Burden injured his quad, where he was carted into the locker room.
Tight end Colston Loveland also contributed to the passing game hauling in 6 catches for 94 yards and a score, he is currently tight end 2 on the week. On the ground D’Andre Swift led the team 54 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
The back-and-forth contest featured nonstop scoring and proved to be a fantasy goldmine, especially for managers relying on core starters from both offenses in championship matchups.

The Bears will be missing Odunze and Burden in a pivotal NFC North matchup.
The NFC North division is on the line as the Bears cling to a half game lead over the Packers. The home matchup will be a hurdle for the Bears as they will be without receivers Luther Burden and Rome Odunze.
Odunze is being shut down for the season and Burden can be considered week-to-week with an ankle injury. Caleb Williams will surely rely on running backs D’Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai. This also opens up a great opportunity for rookie tight end Colston Loveland to have a big day for fantasy football. Fire up healthy Bears players with confidence.
